Technical support for a safe and easier life with dementia

Living in one's own four walls for as long as possible - that is the wish of most older people. There is an increasing demand for aids that enable people to remain in their own homes even in old age. New technologies are becoming increasingly important. Age-appropriate assistance systems support older people and caregivers in their daily lives. Technological aids are designed to improve the quality of life of older people, ensure that they can remain in the community and maintain their independence.

Bedlight

The bed light provides orientation and safety at night. The light turns on automatically at night when you get up. For additional safety,a corridor light can be installed on the way to the bathroom or toilet.

Stove shut-off

With the help of this monitoring tool, the stove switches off automatically when a critical temperature is exceeded or after a predefined time has elapsed. The safety precaution is particularly useful for dementia patients.

Smartwatch

A "smartwatch" is no ordinary watch, because it can display reminders, recognise falls and collect vital parameters. In the event of an emergency, the watch informs contact persons defined in advance. Using the GPS function, it is possible to monitor the location of persons with dementia or to be alerted if they leave a defined radius.

Tablet for cognitive training

On a tablet you can use many functions (memories, games, photos, up to video calls). Digital cognition trainers on tablets also help to maintain memory skills for as long as possible.

Automatic pill dispenser

An automatic pill dispenser with a reminder function and a lockable lid can help people with dementia take their medication on time.

Video telephony

Video telephony directly on the TV enables social participation and regular contact with family members. Operation on a large screen is easier and more intuitive than on a mobile phone display.

Smart Lock

Smart locks can be opened using a smartphone or code key. This allows relatives as well as help and care services to enter the flat if they are authorised to do so. Insecure key safes and the loss of keys can thus be avoided.

Emergency call system

The emergency call system can be worn as a smart wristwatch and serves as a mobile call and location system. An emergency call centre is alerted by a light press on the display or by a coupled sensor (fire detector, fall sensor, etc). Home emergency call systems are also well established and provide protection and safety within one's own four walls.

Fall detection system

A smart sensor system (smart watch, or wall-mounted fall sensors) detects when a person falls and remains lying on the floor. A message is automatically forwarded to an emergency call centre. These systems increase the sense of security of relatives, as they can be alerted in the event of a fall.
